11 vegan food bloggers to follow

We all know, on some level, that following a plant-based diet is probably the healthiest thing we could do for ourselves — and the planet. Even so, making that transition from a diet with meat products to one without can be daunting.

So why not get by with a little help from your food blogger friends? There is no shortage of incredibly talented vegan foodies who blog about their favorite recipes every day — recipes they’re sharing in the hopes you’ll create them one day, too.

We rounded up 11 vegan food bloggers you should be following, like, yesterday if you’re considering going vegan, already are vegan or just want to change up your meal routine with some healthier options.

Nom Yourself

Prior to planting roots in Florida to focus on her blog, Nom Yourself, cookbooks and recipe writing, Chef Mary Mattern’s upscale private clientele included actor Jeremy Piven and musicians Ellie Goulding and Travis Barker.

Not only does she share tons of easy vegan recipes of her own creation on her blog and socials, she also shares tons of incredible vegan dishes and eateries she finds in her travels.

Minimalist Baker

Have you been dying to try going vegan but just feel… overwhelmed? You need Minimalist Baker in your life. Blogger Dana Shultz shares plant-based recipes that require — are you ready for this? — ten ingredients or fewer, one bowl or 30 minutes or less to prepare.

You’d never know by looking at the stunning photos of finished recipes (oh hey there, vegan matcha swirl cheesecake!), but it seriously is that simple.

Oh She Glows

If you’ve ventured into the vegan lifestyle at all, you’ve undoubtedly come across Oh She Glows. It’s kind of a big deal in the community — and for good reason. Angela Liddon’s style of writing is friendly and fun, making even complicated recipes seem worth a try.

As for those recipes, suffice it to say you should prepare to wipe the drool off your chin as you scroll through her Insta feed.

This Rawsome Vegan Life

Emily von Euw of This Rawsome Vegan Life posts the kind of recipes that are so beautiful you almost hesitate to eat them. But the power of hunger compels you — and they taste even more beautiful.

In addition to all of the scrumptious vegan treats they share, we love Em because they are ethically sound and strive to be as intersectional and inclusive as possible in everything they do — including relaying how their privilege shapes their vegan experiences.

The First Mess

Let’s start with the obvious: Laura Wright’s photos are so pretty you’ll want to stare at them all day. We’d venture to guess that it’s simply her love of natural, plant-based foods shining through. But her blog The First Mess is so much more than pretty pictures.

Having attended culinary school, Laura certainly knows her way around the kitchen and it shows — her recipes show a certain creative finesse.

Thug Kitchen

In full disclosure, this blog doesn’t just contain amazing recipes for food that’ll make you nom, nom, nom. It also includes a smattering of curse words. By smattering we mean a lot.  A lot, a lot.

However, if the language doesn’t bother you, Thug Kitchen will fast become one of your favorite sources of kickass vegan recipes.

Deliciously Ella

For the eponymous blogger behind Deliciously Ella, a plant-based diet wasn’t just a fad to follow — it was a lifesaver. After being diagnosed with Postural Tachycardia Syndrome and seeing little success with traditional medicine, Ella Mills turned to a vegan lifestyle in an attempt to manage her condition.

Not only did the lifestyle transform her health, it also transformed her life as a whole. Her recipes have made her a bestselling cookbook author, restaurant owner and food products entrepreneur.
